The modeling career of Anushka began during Lakme Fashion Week in 2017. The model has since been featured in numerous campaigns, which include campaigns for Fiat Palio & Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka took an acting class and started auditioning for films alongside her modelling career. Anushka Sharma was the first actress to film in 2008, with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan. In preparation for her screening, Anushka Sharma spent an entire day. In the following days, she was cast in three films for Yash Raj Films. She played a younger bride to the middle-aged actor (Shah Rukh Khan) in the film. The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka performed with Shahid Kapoor, Vi Das as well as Meiyang Chang in the 2010 film "Badmash Company". It received mixed reviews. The same year Anushka Sharma appeared in the film 'Band Baaja Baaraat' with Ranveer Singh where she played the role of a middle class Punjabi girl who starts her own business of wedding planning. The movie was a huge success and received good reviews. Anushka was able to complete the three film contract together with Yash Raj Films.
